The EPF Claim or EPF Withdrawal claim is applied for by an employee when he is unemployed or at the time of retirement.
The rules suggest that 75% of the EPF balance can be withdrawn after one month of unemployment and the balance 25% can be withdrawn after two months of unemployment.
A withdrawal claim can be filed for the recovery of the EPF by filling the EPF withdrawal form online. The process can be tedious at times and lead to confusion. The government has made this task easier by introducing various methods to Claim the EPF and CHECK EPF CLAIM STATUS.
The shortest and easiest way to CHECK THE EPF CLAIM STATUS is using the UAN. When the EPF has been claimed online the UAN method to CHECK THE EPF CLAIM STATUS is the best, but this is not the case for offline EPF Claims. The Offline EPF CLAIM STATUS can be checked through the other methods listed after UAN.
The steps to CHECK THE EPF CLAIM STATUS through UAN are simple. The Employee in question needs to log in to the UAN Member portal with their UAN and the UAN password. After the page loads, the user can click the Online services option. The third option in the drop down menu is Track Claim Status, Click on this and the Updated status will appear. This is the UAN method to CHECK THE EPF CLAIM STATUS.
As for the offline EPF Claim the EPFO website helps the employee in Checking the EPF CLAIM STATUS. The user can visit the official website of Employees Provident Fund Organisation at http://www.epfindia.gov.in/site_en/KYCS.php and CHECK EPF CLAIM STATUS.
If the user knows their UAN number they can click on the ‘KNOW YOUR EPF STATUS’ tab once they are on the website. After this you can enter the UAN code and the code to land up on the webpage having all the UAN ID related PF accounts. Select the one you have claimed the withdrawal for. You can now CHECK EPF CLAIM STATUS.
The website is also used in one more way. The Employee can visit the official website at http://www.epfindia.gov.in/site_en/KYCS.php and CHECK EPF CLAIM STATUS through their location.
Choose the state in which your PF is being controlled. Select your city and fill the date in the boxes. The process is a bit lengthy as compared to UAN. After filling all the information in the boxes, the status will appear. This is the process to CHECK EPF CLAIM STATUS when there is an Offline withdrawal of PF through website.
The EPFO CUSTOMER CARE can be called at 1800 118 005 to CHECK EPF CLAIM STATUS. The Employees need to have their PF account number or UAN handy for this method.
The Customer Care is available 24×7 and helps make the process easier for people who are not used to the online and virtual mediums.
